Refund policy

Requests for refunds are handled on a case by case basis. If applicable, you may request a refund by contacting either office of the Alberta Insurance Council.

Note: AIC will not provide refunds directly to credit cards.

Administration fee assessed by AIC

AIC charges a $50 administration fee when additional processing is required on received or issued payments. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Cheque or credit card payments that are returned by your financial institution for insufficient funds
  • Requests to AIC to reissue a cheque payment (stale-dated, lost, etc)
  • Any other steps required for AIC to meet a request to change, cancel, or reissue a processed payment.
