AIC’s latest contribution to IBAA’s Alberta Broker magazine
The Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) is committed to supporting insurance professionals in meeting the high standards that Alberta consumers expect and deserve. One of the resources available to brokers who hold a General Insurance license is the General Insurance Council’s (GIC’s) Code of Conduct—a document that outlines the principles of professionalism, integrity, and ethical practice that should guide every interaction with the public, clients, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
In the latest issue of the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta’s (IBAA’s) Alberta Broker magazine, AIC’s Regulatory Counsel Steve Rehak contributed an article titled “Using the General Insurance Council’s Code of Conduct as your professional compass.” The article explores how the Code can serve as a practical reference point in daily practice, helping licensees navigate the complex situations that arise when serving Alberta consumers.
While the article is tailored to General insurance license holders, it examines themes that are seen across all Codes of Conduct for the Industry Councils.
A resource worth returning to
The Industry Councils’ Codes of Conduct are a resource that can be consulted whenever questions arise about professional obligations or how to handle an ethical situation with care and integrity. You can review all Codes of Conduct on the AIC website. These codes represent our shared commitment to professionalism and public protection.
